Favor or Vision
/We have entered a season where there has been a dividing line in the spirit. It is affecting us all over the globe. Nations are realigning. Businesses are merging and changing ownership. Friends are relocating, and we feel and see changes all around us.
In this season, God is realigning, refocusing, and moving us into position for the next thing He is going to ask of us. But when change is in the atmosphere, it is important to know how to structure ourselves and how to respond. In seasons like this, opportunities will find you, and without wisdom and the voice of Jesus, you run the risk or walking through doors that you need to avoid, and you will walk past doors that you need to advance through.
One of my favorite sayings is ...
Favor opens doors, but vision closes them.
Let's break it down.
Favor is the divine quality that draws people to you. It is something we all want, and when you are walking with Jesus, it is something that you have. When you keep the kingdom of heaven your focus, the people around you will sense the ease, breakthrough, peace, and abundance on you. They will automatically want to align with it. When they sense this divine quality, they will open doors for you.
Often in religious circles, we assume open doors are doors Jesus has opened, and we assume closed doors are doors He has shut. We need to update our wisdom. The Holy Spirit living in you and on you will automatically open doors. We have to have discernment to know which to pusue.
This is where vision comes in. When you have a clear cut direction and vision for where you are to go, you are able to use it as a plumb line to know which doors are distractions and which doors are anointed. Your vision should not be vague, it should not be shallow. It should hold precision about your passion, about your call, and about your heart. It should not just be something you throw together. It should be sought after with counsel, prayer, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Now for some examples.
About three years, when my husband began to excel in his current business, we got inundated with new opportunities. He got phone calls. He got random offers. He got head-hunted. It all seemed out of the blue. And many of the offers were fantastic opportunities. But we had clear direction and vision on what we wanted as a family, what he wanted in business, and he had a clear word on what he was supposed to do in his company. Our vision made closing great offers ...easy.
Then there are times where you use your vision to show you which doors to knock on.
While marketing my book and looking for endorsements, I knew there were some that I felt called to get. I had a word, a vision, on how God wanted to bless me. But, I tried walking through the door, and I got rejected. It stunned me because I knew in my spirit that it was supposed to open. Now this is where I had to wrestle. Did Jesus ask me to pursue it? Did He tell me what He wanted to do? YES! I wasn't about to give up. So I got creative. I prayed, and then I acted in accordance with what He showed me. In my wrestling, I knew Jesus had given me a key; a key that would unlock the door that I had tried to advance through. And it did unlock it. I found the person who could get me in contact with someone in the parenting industry that I really respected. Remember the one who holds the keys to the kingdom. Ask Jesus for keys to the doors you need access to.
I wish the concept of direction was easy. Sometimes it is so confusing. Sometimes it seems like doors I have unlocked seem jammed, and sometimes doors I shut, keep opening with the wind. But I do know that favor, vision, and wisdom are necessary in the journey of where Jesus is taking us.
Which doors do you need to shut? Which doors do you need to advance through? Let's seek heaven's perspective and then be willing to align with the changes that Jesus is making in this season.
Bless
__________, I bless you in the name of Jesus. I bless you to have clarity in your heart. I bless you to have vision of where you are to stand and what you call is. I bless you to know beyond knowing that you are anointed by Jesus, and I bless you to have ease on your path.
Declare
I declare that I will function with wisdom. I will take time to evaluate the doors that are standing before me. I will be faithful to close doors, even great ones, that don't align with what Jesus has put inside me. I declare that I will be diligent to knock on, unlock, and advance through the doors that agree with the vision and call on my life. I declare that I will seek counsel from others and I will listen to the Holy Spirit, and I will advance with confidence.
